SOYBEANS

TASKS:

  • Identify and order soybean seed (Deadline: Friday January 25); also order inoculant if determined to be necessary; varieties need to be cold tolerant (01, 00)
  • Secure space for growing soybeans
  • Coordinate planting with Purdue Student Farmers
  • Manage watering and maintenance schedule for soybeans while growing in greenhouse
  • Prepare seedlings for transplanting; organize transplanting
  • Schedule observation and care of soybeans once growing in box
  • Observe weather conditions and make sure soybeans are covered in frost conditions

Important Dates:

  • Plant seeds first week of February (need to place order by January 25)
  • Tend seedlings and document their progress through the end of February
  • Plan for transplanting on or right around March 1

PLANTER CONSTRUCTION

SYMPOSIUM

TASKS:

  • Identify potential speakers and send letters of invitation
  • Find space and date for the symposium; secure needed technology
  • Solicit descriptions of talks that can be published on blog along with short bios of presenters
  • Schedule the order of talks and prepare introductions for each presenter
  • Refreshments?

DOCUMENTATION COORDINATORS

TASKS:

  • Make sure that forms of documentation are happening at all phases and locations of the project (photos, videos, sketches, journals, etc.)
  • Collect documentation and prepare it for publication (blog, exhibition catalog, short video, etc.)
  • Work on design and production of an exhibition catalog
  • Make sure everyone is recording (i.e. writing down) interesting on-site discussions once project is installed

GALLERY EXHIBITION IN STEWART
Monica, Michael, Ari, Allyson (food), My Lea
TASKS:

  • Plan content and layout of the exhibition and schedule help for installation
  • Create signage for exhibition and for planter box
  • Advertise the exhibition (postcard, posters, communicate with on-campus media)
  • Plan and manage the opening reception
